Property Tax Relief Program For 2008
The income limit for elderly or disabled homeowners was
increased from $24,000 to $24,790.
Elderly applicants must be 65 or older on or before December
31, 2008.
Applicants must provide evidence of age.
Disabled homeowner applicants must have been totally and
permanently disabled as rated by Social Security
Administration or other qualified agency on or before December
31, 2008. Applicants must provide evidence of age.
All applicants must own and use the property on which they
apply as their primary residence. Combined 2007 annual income
of all owners of the property cannot exceed $24,790.
Annual income from all sources includes, but is not limited
to: Social Security (after Medicare is deducted), Supplemental
Security Income, Retirement or Pension benefits (gross amount
before deduction of health benefits, etc.), Veterans’
Administration benefits, Workers’ Compensation, Salaries or
Wages, Interest or Dividend Income.
The deadline for taking new applications is April 6, 2009.
