FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PUBLIC FORUM ON FAIRVIEW REC CENTER ACTIVITIES

WHERE: Fairview Middle School Auditorium
WHEN: JUNE 30, 2015
TIME: 6:30 p.m.

Williamson County Parks and Recreation wants your input at a public forum on June 30,
2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fairview Middle School auditorium, to gain
a better understanding of who uses the Fairview Recreation Complex, find out what new
activities or improvements you would like to see at the facility and discuss the transition of
youth community recreation association duties back to the public. WCPR director Gordon
Hampton, the recreation center staff and public officials will be on hand to hear citizens’
ideas. “We would like Fairview residents to share their ideas and dreams about their
recreation center and recreation programs,” said Hampton, adding that “the Fairview area
continues to grow, and to meet the community’s needs, we want honest input about the
facility and the programs, leagues, classes and events we offer now, could offer in the
future and changes that could be made.”

The Fairview Recreation Complex is one of WCPR’s five full-service, indoor recreation
facilities, which also include locations in Franklin, Brentwood, Nolensville and Spring Hill.
Located at 2714 Fairview Blvd., the Fairview facility features a gymnasium, meeting rooms,
wellness center, group fitness room, game room, sitting service, outdoor pool, youth
football field, soccer field, walking trail and playground. The center offers group fitness
classes, personal training services, cultural arts classes, camps, senior activities, athletic
leagues and a summer swim team. Annual special events include a Halloween party,
dances, Santa’s Polar Express, Easter egg hunts, family nights, concerts and pool parties.

A number of community groups also use the public facility for meetings.
At the June 30 public forum, a short survey will be made available at the door, as well as, at
the front desk of the recreation complex and on-line at www.wcparksandrec.com and
through the department’s Facebook page. Area residents are encouraged to complete the
survey before July 31. Hampton and his staff will use the information for planning future
events and improvements.
