FIREFIGHTER

SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the shift officer or assigned chain of command combats, extinguishes, and prevents fires and fire related hazards. Protects life and property through firefighting and emergency response activities such as medical response calls, motor vehicle accidents, and various other first responder calls for service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma is required. Candidates must be 21 years or older at time of application.

CITY HALL CLOSED TO PUBLIC ON COURT DAYS

In an effort to ensure the health and safety of the general public in response to the COVID-19 crisis some city departments will be closed on the city’s municipal court / general sessions court dates.

Beginning Friday, May 29, 2020, and continuing through calendar year 2020, the City of Fairview city recorder, finance and community relations offices located at city hall will be closed on court dates. The number of participants at city hall on court days make it necessary to limit public interaction for other services.

At the City of Fairview the health and safety of our community is our highest priority. In consideration of the coronavirus (COVID-19) we are taking steps to ensure that essential services remain uninterrupted while also enacting reasonable precautions regarding non-essential services. As a result, the following information should serve as a guide to city services until further notice:

All city departments remain open. However, due to the growing concern over community spread of COVID-19 and the state restrictions/guidelines regarding “essential services” the following hours of operation will be effective Tuesday, March 31, 2020 and will be in effect until further notice:
