NOTICE OF ELECTION
CITY OF FAIRVIEW SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
THURSDAY, JANUARY 11, 2024
Pursuant to T.C.A. § 2-12-111 (a) Notice is hereby given that a CITY OF FAIRVIEW SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION will be open and held in all the applicable voting locations in Williamson County, Tennessee, on Thursday, January 11, 2024. The following office is to be elected:
ONE (1) CITY COMMISSIONER
(UNEXPIRED TERM)
In order to qualify as candidate for the municipal office above, qualifying petitions must be filed in the Election Commission office no later than Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 12:00 Noon, prevailing time (T.C.A.§ 2-5-101(a)). Municipal candidates must meet the General Qualifications as required by T.C.A. § 8-18-101 and all requirements as required by the municipal charter.
Withdrawal Deadline
On or before December 7, 2023, at 12:00 Noon, prevailing time, candidates may withdraw their names from the official ballot: request is to be in writing, signed by the candidate, and submitted to the Election Commission Office. (T.C.A. § 2-5-204 (b) (1))
VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE
The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, December 12, 2023, 4:30 P.M. Voter registration can be completed online at our website at www.williamsonvotes.net. Forms may be completed in person at the Tennessee Department of Safety Driver Testing Centers, the Department of Human Services, or the Williamson County Health Department. Forms may also be obtained at any library within Williamson County or on our website at www.williamsonvotes.net. Voter registration forms postmarked no later than December 12, 2024, will be processed for this election. Persons already registered in Williamson County may have their permanent voter registration records altered upon receipt of a written notification, over the voters’ signature, on or before January 6, 2024. Persons registering to vote by mail must appear in person the first time he or she votes either on Election Day or during the early voting period. Before voting at the appropriate polling place, election commission office or early voting site such person shall present satisfactory proof of identification bearing the voters name and photo unless excluded under certain provisions of the law. (T.C.A. § 2-2-109, 2-2-115 (7) and 2-7-112 (a))
